The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires that Hospice By The Bay ensure the confidentiality and security of protected health information (PHI) when it is transferred, received, handled, or shared. Because of HIPAA privacy regulations, we may not be able to reply to an insecure email. However, information sent or received over the phone or via fax is considered by HIPAA to be secure.
