Hospice By The Bay offers a number of support groups, as well as individual counseling, for those grieving or anticipating the loss of a loved one. There is no charge for individuals whose family member received our hospice care within the past year; however donations are gratefully accepted. These services are also available for a fee to community members who have not received hospice care.
Please call the Hospice By The Bay Bereavement Department at least a week ahead of the start date of a support group to reserve space.

Ongoing group includes discussions and work with various art media, including painting and collage. Art experience is not necessary.

A summer drop-in group for ages 6-12 who are anticipating the loss of someone important in their lives, or who are coping with feelings of grief after a death. Art, play, writing, poetry, and music are used to express feelings and find healing ways to move through this difficult time. No art experience necessary.
San Francisco - July 15th-August 12th; meets Tuesdays, 1:00-2:30pm
Six-week series designed to provide support for families by providing concurrent support groups for children and their parents. The children's group will help children express and cope with their grief through art, play activities, education, and discussion. The parent's group will help parents process their grief and provide education and support for parenting issues that arise from their loss.

Touch Drawing is a simple, yet profound process where, with guided meditation, drawings are made by moving both hands on paper covering an inked surface to create healing images. Parents and children share their drawing, feelings, and memories about loved ones. No art experience is necessary. Workshop and materials fee is $25.

This one-time workshop offers a creative way to express feelings of grief and loss that may be impossible to put into words. Teens will combine materials, such as paint, pastels, photos, found objects, and paper, to decorate memory boxes. No art experience necessary. Workshop and materials fee is $25.
